Not sure what to say?

It is with much sadness that I learned of Lt. Col. Holstine's passing. I have several fond and proud memories of the man he came to become. From the young SP4 at the 863rd En(CBT) Bn. to his graduation from college and commissioning as a Junior Officer in the US Army. I was privileged to have received his First Salute and the memory coin he presented me. I look at it occasionally, and have over the years, and reflect on how our interactions may have gone. I dearly hope I had a positive impact...

I am truly honored to have had a chance to know and respect Bill. From early in his career with the Reserves, Bill had a desire to achieve and I am proud if I had a part in nudging him to pursue his goals. Greatest of all memories that Bill could leave with me, was the honor of giving him his "First Salute". It is with pride that I look on his achievement and know him as faithful and honest man, father and soldier.

Bill Took me for the first time to a Chicago bears game.

To the Holstine family
I graduated high school with Billy. I have many fun and happy memories from that time. I am so very sorry for your loss. May the good and happy memories your family has help you through this difficult time. God bless you all.

From PLDC through his career Bill was always caring and a concerned friend. He will be missed. God bless! ESSAYONS

I worked with Billy at the Reserve Center full time back in the day. I remember him trying to show me how to do the moon walk, I never learned! May your time with him hold your memories and know that his time on this earth touched many.
