Lieutenant Colonel David M. Kithcart (Ret) David M. Kithcart was escorted by angels to his eternal home, May 13, 2010. David was born to the late Bishop Hezekiah Kithcart and Mary E. Brown, on June 18, 1928, in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was a graduate of Highland High School in Gastonia and a well known football star. After being recruited by A&T University N.C. for a football scholarship, David graduated cum laude with a B.S. in English. He married his college sweetheart, the late Almena Dolores Jaggers, on March 20, 1953. He joined the military in 1953, the same year it was integrated. Although there many obstacles and challenges, he excelled and became a well respected officer. He received Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized Sept. 10, 1961, he was later baptized in the Holy Spirit. David completed two tours in Korea and one in Viet Nam. He was stationed in Tehran, Iran for 2 1/2 years with his wife and six children, as an interpreter and liaison for the American and Iranian Armies. He was also stationed at various military posts throughout the United States. After retiring in 1973 as Post Commander of Ft. Holabird MD, he moved to Akron, Ohio with his family. David was able to focus solely on ministry, and began preaching, teaching, and conducting prayer meetings in his home, and in various churches nationwide. There was rarely a time when a prayer was not being prayed or a soul getting saved, in the Kithcart home. And, if you knew his wife, no one ever left their home hungry.
