Lieutenant Colonel David M. Kithcart (Ret) David M. Kithcart was escorted by angels to his eternal home, May 13, 2010. David was born to the late Bishop Hezekiah Kithcart and Mary E. Brown, on June 18, 1928, in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was a graduate of Highland High School in Gastonia and a well known football star. After being recruited by A&T University N.C. for a football scholarship, David graduated cum laude with a B.S. in English. He married his college sweetheart, the late Almena Dolores Jaggers, on March 20, 1953. He joined the military in 1953, the same year it was integrated. Although there many obstacles and challenges, he excelled and became a well respected officer. He received Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized Sept. 10, 1961, he was later baptized in the Holy Spirit. David completed two tours in Korea and one in Viet Nam. He was stationed in Tehran, Iran for 2 1/2 years with his wife and six children, as an interpreter and liaison for the American and Iranian Armies. He was also stationed at various military posts throughout the United States. After retiring in 1973 as Post Commander of Ft. Holabird MD, he moved to Akron, Ohio with his family. David was able to focus solely on ministry, and began preaching, teaching, and conducting prayer meetings in his home, and in various churches nationwide. There was rarely a time when a prayer was not being prayed or a soul getting saved, in the Kithcart home. And, if you knew his wife, no one ever left their home hungry. He leaves to cherish his memory sons, David Jr.(Carla) Kithcart, Virginia Beach, VA, Anthony Kithcart, Merchant Marines, M/Sgt. (Ret.) James (Onnameaga) Kithcart, Fredericksburg, VA, Charles Kithcart, Raleigh, NC; daughters, Judith Kithcart, of the home and Mary Kithcart, Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Daniel Burden, Boston, MA, Mark (Shea) Burden, Houston, TX, Michael Williams, Akron, OH, Rachel and David III Kithcart, India and Sydney Kithcart, Isaiah and Angel Kithcart; brother, Hezekiah (Mabel) Kithcart, Charleston, SC; sisters, Kathleen Key, Philadelphia, PA and Mary Frances (Jesse James) Threats, Gastonia, NC. A memorial service celebrating David's life will be held Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harvest House Christian Center, 200 Rothrock Rd. in Copley, Ohio, 44321 with Dr. Jerome Parker and Dr. Jerry Fryar officiating. Not sure what to say?

I would like to say Lt. Col. Kithcart was a spiritual giant in the Kingdom of God. But, he was a mighty inspiration and mentor to me. He taught me to flow with the Holy Spirit and be a man of faith.

He wouldn’t remember me but I was an MP in 1972 73 at Fort Holabird. He was a humble but excellent leader. My wife worked at the commissary and remembers his wife as a gentle and personable lady.

He was one of most Godly man . Had a beautiful voice. He preached in oklahoma on several occasions. He sang in the spirit. Very anointed.

Originally from Asheville, NC my family and I attended the West Asheville Assembly of God church. I played bass guitar in the Praise & Worship Group. God blessed me & my family with the opportunity to meet & become friends with Brother David. Two things that God sincerely blessed me & my family with were 1st in 1986 while brother David was preaching at our church he specifically asked for me to drive him from church back to his motel. Now brother David was a mighty powerful man of God & quite...
