Brookins Lubertha U. Brookins on February 17, 2017, our mother and matriarch of our family received her wings and was called home on special assignment with family surrounding her. Mother served her family, community, church and most of all, Christ and did so with sincere love and passion for serving God and people. True pillar in her church and community. Retired teacher of Columbus Public Schools, teaching over 30 years at Livingston Elementary. Born September 16, 1930 in Marion Junction, AL to the late Watt, Sr. and Laura Underwood. Survived by brother, Watt Underwood, Jr.; loving children, Arthur, Sr and Clarence Williamson and Kingsetta Honeysuckle; step daughter, Gail (David) Webster; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; special friends, Lillian McCoy and Betty Slaughter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Homegoing Celebration Saturday, February 25, 2017, 10:30 a.m., Kingdom Power Baptist Church, 980 Lenore Ave, Rev. Quentin LaMar Respress, officiating where the family will receive friends 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements entrusted to CALIMAN FUNERAL SERVICES.
