A Time to Be Born…
Lucas Lamar Manigault was born on Palm Sunday, April 3, 1966, in Charleston, South Carolina. He was a son of Jack Manigault, Sr. and Julia Ann Reid Manigault.
A Time to Die…
Lucas departed this life peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Roper St. Francis Mt. Pleasant Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, SC.
A Time to Serve, Grow, Develop, Work and Love…
As a young lad, Lucas was baptized and attended Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. He attended public school in Charleston County and was a 1984 graduate of Lincoln High School, McClellanville, SC. After graduation, he attended Waterson Diesel Institute in Charlotte, NC. Lucas then was employed with various Dredging Companies throughout his life. He loved his occupation and was in the dredging business for 30 years until his health began to decline.
Lucas considered himself as hitting the “ultimate jackpot” when he was joined in holy matrimony to Sharina Bozier on June 24, 1988. During this union of 29 years, in addition to their son Damien, they have raised many children in their loving home.
A Time to Mourn…
Lucas was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Graylyn Manigault. His brother, Leroy Manigault, joined him upon those golden shores two days after Lucas’ departure.
A Time to Rest…
Lucas leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Sharina Bozier Manigault of the home; a son, Damien Dawson (Crystal) of North Charleston, SC; four granddaughters, Ty’Nasia and Olivia Thornton, Megan McDaniel and Little Gia Maria Lee Dawson all of the home; his siblings, Jack Manigault Jr. (Deborah) of Summerville, SC, Esther Manigault, O. LaVern Smalls (Peter, Jr.), Norman Manigault (Sharnette) all of McClellanville, SC; his parents-in-law, Lee and Mable Bozier, Sr.; brother-in-law, Lee Bozier Jr.; sisters-in-law, Cassandra Johnson (Tommie) and Regina Bozier; maternal aunts, Mary Reid Howard, Nena Reid and Frances Reid.
“Uncle Lucas” will be greatly missed by all of his nieces and nephews (both blood and adoptive), as well as a host of cousins and friends.
