Lucia (Davila) McSweeney
Lucia (Davila) McSweeney was born on December 13, 1940 in Mathis, Texas and passed away peacefully on June 25, 2023. Lucia is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Teodoro Olmeda Davila and Jacinta Treviño Davila, her sisters and brothers, Virginia, Rosalia (Moreno), Santos, and Domingo Davila, and many cousins. Lucia is survived by her husband of over 60 years, William (Mac) McSweeney (ret. USAF) her children Kathleen, Michael, (ret. USN), and Karen (Oxfurth), her sons-in-law Michael Rafky and Keith Oxfurth, and her adoring grandchildren David, Noah, and Benjamin Rafky, and Isabella, Anna, Leo, and Fiona Oxfurth, of Centreville, VA, Arlington, VA, and Pittsburgh, PA.
She is also survived by her loving family in Texas, including her brother-in-law Noe Moreno and her sister-in-law Andrea Maes, many wonderful cousins, and her beloved nieces and nephews: Stephen Moreno; Christina Moreno Hill, Brody, Anissa and Anaya Hill; Rene, Keri, Jessika and Briana Davila; Arnoldo, Rudy Ray Davila, Raquel Davila Hernandez, and Gabriel, Aria, and Gabriel Michael Davila.
Lucia is in the care of Murphy Funeral Home in Arlington, VA where a wake will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 13807 Poplar Tree Road in Chantilly, VA on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1 p.m. with a reception following the Mass.
