Lucia Moes Obituary

Lucia Scotto Moes

Lucia Scotto Moes, 64, of Oklahoma City formerly of Pensacola and Tallahassee Florida passed away Sunday July 2, 2017 at Integris Baptist Medical Center.

She was born January 4, 1953 to Tony and Jan Scotto . On August 17, 1974 she married high school sweetheart Charles Edward Moes Jr. They were happily married until his passing on April 25, 2012.

Lucia was a devout Catholic and the loving mother to eight children and provided a nurturing home to them. Chip's job brought them all over; Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Argentina and Chile just to name a few and her big smile made friends wherever she went. Above all she loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and proudly received her Pilgrim Shell.

Survivors include her children: Charles Moes III, Janet (Alex) Krause, James (Mai) Moes, Allen Moes, Greg (Raena) Moes, Mark (Catherine) Moes, Chris Moes, Patricia Moes; six grandchildren: Andrew, Marisa, Anthony, Eddie, Emerson, Elijah, and another grandchild on the way; three siblings: Regina Wedig, Toni Marie Burke, Anthony Scotto; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A memorial mass will be 11 am on Monday July 17th at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, FL.

In lieu of flowers: http://www.donateodwc.com/AboutUs.html, and http://www.sjpiichs.org/ are two organizations that were dear to her heart.

Lucia was the warmest friend I had in Tallahassee! She was one of the first to greet me at JP II when I arrived, shortly after the dedication of the new Softball field dedicated to your dad. Her amazing faith, joy and kindness will always be a gift and inspiration to me! I was blessed to know her. My prayers for all of you as you miss her, but rejoice in her eternal unbounded joy!

Carpool to OLA School, Janet spilled hot chocolate on her uniform.
Tad and Chipper had a "fist fight" to test their strength at age 8 or 9. Both won - "you should have seen him, he's hurt worse than me."
Timothy, the dog, caught a rabbit and broke James' heart.
Lucia always be remembered for her friendship love and laughter

To all of Lucia's family and friends:
You have my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. I was privileged to have met Lucia at Mississippi University for Women, where we became Rosette sisters in the same pledge class. She was a lovely person, inside and out...with the most remarkable, high-wattage smile! It is evident from the pictures you shared of the memories that were made, that Lucia's was a life well-lived. May God bless you and grant you peace.
