It was an honor to collaborate with and present an exhibition of her excellent work entitled Bloom! at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts in 2009. Lou's tenacity and bold paintings have served as an inspiration to other artists, students, and patrons alike. She will be missed and continued to be celebrated.

Today, while going through a box of mementos from old friends, I found a note from Lou. It took no time for that letter to bring to mind her warmth and generosity of spirit. What she gave was so rich and beautiful, as a person and through her art.
I had hoped that looking her up today, I would be able to track her down and send a note. I wish I had done so sooner. The consolation is that you all had the gift of her for so long. May you have found comfort in your memories of Lou. I...
