Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC - New London Obituary

Sutton Mills, NH - Lucille (Cheney) Chadwick died peacefully in her home in Sutton Mills on April 17, 2024, at the age of 89.

Lucille was born on April 6, 1935, in Newbury, NH to Luke T.  and Arietta (Skinner) Cheney.

She married the love of her life, Donald Chadwick in 1951.  She graduated from Simonds High School in 1951 while Don finished his enlistment in the US Navy.

They settled in their home in Sutton Mills and raised their two children.  After her children were on their own, she began working as a 2nd shift supervisor at Frameworks in Hillsboro and then Newport for many years.

Her children and grandchildren remember her as a smart, determined, supportive and beautiful lady.  She was an upbeat person who always encouraged her children in whatever they pursued.

Lucille loved to travel and visited many countries, including Germany, Australia and New Zealand.  She loved to read, loved the outdoors, and especially loved Maine, where she spent her 89th birthday with her daughter and son-in-law.

She was a ballot clerk for the town of Sutton for many years and was a member of the Sutton Historical Society.

Lucille is predeceased by her parents, her husband Don who passed in 2006, and 5 siblings: Ethel, Wayne, Marian, Jessie and Luke, Jr.

Surviving family members include her daughter Debra (Pete) Six of Bradford; her son, Edward of Sutton Mills; Grandson, Isaac Chadwick of Burlington, VT, Granddaughter, Caleigh (Maxwell) Greene of Sutton, Grandson, Chad and Granddaughter, Ami, as well as four great-grandchildren, Grace, Mia, Charlie, and Ryan.

Graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 on Friday, April 26 at Millwoods Cemetery in South Sutton.  A reception will follow at the Chadwick home in Sutton Mills. Fred Davis will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lucille's life.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either the Sutton Rescue Squad or the Sutton Volunteer Fire Department.
