Dear Irby, Meryl and family, heavens orchestra needed her tender smile, corrective strokes, and her resounding voice. Mother Downs was the first teacher to welcome me to the field; as we were the specials at Stephen E. Howe Elementary School. She arrived early each day to help nurture my career.
