David, My deepest sympathies to you and your family in the death of your mother. She was a warm and lovely lady, and I know she will be missed by all who knew her.

Ken and David, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families during this difficult time. Your Mom and Dad were wonderful people and we feel privileged to have known them as valued members of Salem Presbyterian Church.

When I moved to Salem, VA in 1974 fresh our of college to teach second , I didn't know a soul. But my mother thankfully knew Lucille Middleton from Presbytery work, and she was instrumental in my adjusting to a new town and to living on my own for the first time. She helped me find an apartment, invited me to join the choir at Salem Presbyterian Church and when I married, she gave a luncheon. I still have the little net "bridesmaid" that decorated the icecream dessert. I have fond memories of...

I didn't know Mrs. Middleton, but I went to high school and graduated in the same class with David. I want to offer my deepest sympathy to the family for their loss, especially to David and Kenneth

I lived "down the hill" from the Middletons for several years and knew both Ken and David. My thoughts and prayers to the entire family on the loss of Mrs. Middleton and especially to Ken and David on the loss of their mother.

My prayers and thoughts are with Lucille and Woody's family. I knew them both for many years, having worked on The Roanoke Times. God Bless.
