Lucille Del Plato

Brick - Lucille Ann Del Plato (Longo), 89, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her children on Monday, April 26, 2021. Lucille was born May 21, 1931 to her parents Pasquale "Patsy" Longo and Madeline Milani Longo in Orange, New Jersey. She married her husband Lawrence on September 18, 1951 and they began their family in Brick, New Jersey. Lucille was always family first-and you never went hungry when you visited the Del Plato household. ALL were welcome and loved her gravy and meatballs! Lucille adored her children and was blessed by grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never missed a sports event for her children. Lucille will also be remembered as a regular visitor to Harrah's in Atlantic City where she hit many 5 of a Kind jackpots! Lucille retired from the Board of Social Services in Toms River in 2000; she was also the former owner of Village Jewelers in Brick. Lucille also taught Catechism at Holy Family, Lakewood.

She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Lawrence in 1997; and her three brothers Peter Longo, Charles Longo and Phillip Longo.

She is survived by her four loving and devoted children, Charles Del Plato and his wife Carole; Donna LaBrutto; Lawrence Del Plato and Robert Del Plato. Her grandchildren Tina Scully and her husband Pete; Judy McMurray and her wife Doreen; Cathy Groesch and her husband Mike, and Rebecca Del Plato; her great grandchildren Gage, Jonna, Taylor, Max and Alex; her sister Suzanne Benevento and her husband Anthony and brother Donald Longo and his wife Corrinne. She also leaves many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Not sure what to say?

I’m going to miss you Aunt Lucille. Atlantic City will never be the same. Sending prayers and hugs to everyone in our family. Rest In Peace Until We Meet Again

My heart goes out to all Lucille's family. I first met her at the Board of Social Services. She was like a second mom to me and we talked about everything. After she left we continued to keep in touch although not so often but would catch up when we did talk. I'm sure she will be missed by all.

I worked with Lucille at Ocboss. She was always so kind and supportive. So odd, I was just wondering how she was doing the other day. So very sorry for your loss. Deepest sympathy to the entire family. She was a force to be reckoned with.

Rob, So sorry for your loss.
Sincerely, Kathy (Flanagan) Ruddy
