Lucille Alta Smith, 86, of Mesa, AZ died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Hospice of the Valley. She was born September 28,1921, in Alton, Kansas, to Bertha (Bull) and Orval Fullerton. Lucille was married to Wayne Smith on January 14, 1944 in Brooklyn, Iowa. She was a member of the Velda Rose United Methodist Church where she was active with organizing church luncheons and helped with their rummage sale. Preceded in death by her husband, Wayne in 1990 and her sister Valda Connell in 2006. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Jean Henry of Brooklyn, IA; nieces, Marilyn Brannian of Amana, IA; Karen (Jim) Lively of State Center, IA; and Jane (George) Cline of Brooklyn IA; nephews, Vaughn (Anita) Smith of Polk City, IA; and Steven Henry of Brooklyn, IA; nine great nieces and nephews; and four great- great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11:00 AM, Velda Rose United Methodist Church, 5540 E. Main,, Mesa, AZ 85205.
