I remember her well beginning in 1980 when I became Principal, Andrew Jackson High School in NY City. She shared my love of libraries and my appreciation of their power in the lives of economically disadvantaged and all children. She was a true believer in the power of words and a mentor/leader to many who saw her as an inspirational leader to all including those working beyond the realm of libraries.
