My sympathy to Cindy's family and friends. I knew Cindy as a nutrition educator and fellow member of the Maine Nutrition Council. She was an excellent educator and had humor and grace. She will be dearly missed by many.

To Cindy's family:
I am just returning from a week long conference and going through e-mails and found the e-mail from the Maine CDC telling of Cindy's death. I am so sorry to hear this. Cindy and I worked together on several committees over the last several years. She was a kind, thoughtful and dedicated professional who continued to work diligently even as it was increasingly clear that her health was deteriorating.
My thoughts go to her family. Valli Geiger...

My sincere condolences to Cindy's family. Cindy taught the new instructor program when I first became a diabetes educator. I have had the pleasure of working with her on many projects over the past 12 years and will miss her dearly. She was a kind, compassionate and incredibly brave person. I will miss her.

My very deepest sympathy goes out to Cindy's family. Though we only knew each other professionally during my short time as diabetes educator, I really experienced a true friend in Cindy. Always giving of herself and ready to offer her assistance whenever she could. She will surely be missed.

I remember Cindy from our days at Northeast Bardford HS; she would often come to my mind and be a source of inspiration, especially after our daughter developed diabetes at the age of 4. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

Cindy was such a gentle soul; a beautiful person who I was always happy to run into. She deeply cared about people and about helping them. The fact that she was so knowledgeable was icing on the cake. She will be missed.

I always thought very highly of Cindy--what a sweet, gentle and committed soul, who seemed so resilient and courageous in regard to her own challenges. I worked with her and Jim on a strategic plan fro the Diabetes Control Program several years ago and learned a lot from her. Hard to believe she's gone. My sincere sympathy to her loved ones.
