Frazier-Mitchell Funeral Service, Inc. - Houston Obituary

Lucius Wayne Scott, affectionately known as Wayne and fondly referred to as "Hot Lips," began his earthly journey on October 16, 1955, in Houston, Texas. Born to   Rev. John H. Scott and Eula V. Alexander Scott (Wilson), Wayne's upbringing in the Pleasantville community instilled in him a deep appreciation for the bonds that transform neighbors into extended family.

Educated at Furr High School, Wayne discovered his early passion for agriculture through FFA and graduated in 1974.

His unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, embraced from an early age, inspired a lifelong commitment to serving others.

Answering the call to serve his country, Wayne enlisted in the Armed Forces Army active duty from 1976 to 1979, continuing his service in the US Army Reserve until 1982. Wayne continued to serve others after the Armed Forces and became a First Responder. Wayne dedicated over three decades to the Houston Fire Department (HFD), earning the nickname 'Hubba Bubba' from his comrades. Wayne retired from (HFD) in 2011. This was one of the most memorable days in his life and he celebrated his retirement day from (HFD) every year in his own way and thanking God for allowing him to enjoy his retirement.

In tandem with his role as a First Responder, Wayne continued his passion in FFA, where he and his brothers united together in the love for the quarter horse breed. Because of Wayne and his brother’s passion in horses, they started 3-BAR-S, a quarter horse ranch and incorporated a trail riding club. This led Wayne to further extend his passion into horse racing and sponsorship programs for many kids to pursue their passion in FFA. The 3-BAR-S still carries its legacy to date.

While serving as a First Responder, Wayne was also employed at Fort Bend ISD in the transportation department as a bus driver, still serving others. Because of his loving spirit and interaction with kids, he was always requested to transport the Dulles FFA staff and students to competitions. With his knowledge in agriculture, he spent many hours mentoring the kids as they prepared for competition. Wayne forged meaningful connections with staff and students, particularly in the FFA department at Dulles High School and many others. His boundless generosity manifested in the establishment of the Eula Scott Wilson Scholarship program, aiding students to achieve their dreams.

Wayne was a dedicated Mason for over 30 years at Ever Ready Lodge No. 506, Wayne exemplified brotherhood and service.

His talent and excellence in culinary, passion for deer hunting, and love to always feed others endeared him to many. This will truly be missed!

For more than 26 years, Wayne was a devoted husband to his wife, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather.

May we remember Wayne for his selfless service, enduring legacy, and the warmth he brought to the lives of those he touched.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. John H. Scott, and Eula Alexander Scott (Wilson) and sister Virginia LeBlanc.

Wayne leaves to cherish his most beautiful memories: ‘ wife Debra Renee Scott who devoted her life to her husband, two daughters, Dianeshia King (Christopher),      Annia’ Scott, two sons, Christopher Curl (Windie), Tedarren Richardson, six grandchildren, Christopher Curl II, Cayden Curl and Chrislyn Curl, Javeon Richardson, Jessiah Richardson, Devin Richardson, four brothers, Donald Scott, Horace Scott (Josalyn), Larry Scott, John Q. Known to us as Wayne......

Daddy....As I sit here the days are harder and harder to see go so soon. I can't hear your voice, kiss your face and I miss you saying "My first born". I will cherish our most deep conversations of love how we never hung up from talking without saying "Love You". I don't know how to get let go. I pray God will allow you be my guardian angel forever and I trust God's plan, for he make no mistake regardless of the hurt and pain.....I miss you Daddy!

We will miss you!

There are times in your life when you meet someone and feel like you have been friends all your life. Wayne was such a person to us. We knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he loved deeply - he loved his family, his brothers in arms, his extended “work family” and the kids at Fort Bend. Hubba Bubba enjoyed serving the community and was a man of God. His love will be in our hearts until we meet again in Heaven. We miss you already our brother - your sister in spirit,

Terri

Our brother Scott as we referred to him as, was blessed with a kind caring heart that was second to none. He loved his family, his country and his friends- there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for you. He will be missed beyond words.
