LUCY BUSTILLOS

1943 - 2016

On 31 May 2016, Lucy Bustillos, 73, returned to her heavenly home. Her belief in God and the support provided by her devoted family gave her the strength to face with dignity her short but intense struggle. Lucy was born on Feb 27, 1943 in El Paso, Texas to Frank Campos, a civil servant at Ft. Bliss, and Josefina Campos, a homemaker. Lucy graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in El Paso, Texas. She married her lifelong best friend Ruben on July 1, 1962 and together raised three children with patience, love, and understanding. Lucy is survived by her husband Ruben, daughters Rebecca and son in law Ramiro Diaz and Margaret Bustillos, grandchildren Adrian, Sara, Emily, and Abigale Diaz, and Alyssa Bustillos. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren: Elena, Cenee, Ruben Diego, Mya, Elon, Jason Jr, Autumn, and Mychal. Surviving siblings include Sandra (Orly) Lujan, Albert Campos, Ramona (Antonio) Roman, and Lorraine Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her son Ruben Bustillos Jr, Esperanza Quintana (sister) and Frank Campos (brother). Visitation will be held on Sunday June 5, 2016 from 5-9 pm with a Rosary to begin at 7 pm at Kaster-Maxon and Futrell (8817 Dyer St). Mass will be held on Monday June 6, 2016 at 10 am at Assumption Catholic Church (4800 Byron St) followed by the burial at Restlawn Memorial Park (4848 Alps off of Dyer).
