And He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own.
On Tuesday, April 10, 2012 Lucy Martin Grant went home to walk hand in hand with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lucy is survived by her sons, Sammy Grant; Ricky Grant and wife Debbie and 3 grandchildren, Brooke, Brandie and Matthew Grant. She had another precious granddaughter, Jennifer Grant who is there with her now in heaven. Lucy was also preceded in death by her husband, Sam W. Grant.
Lucy loved working in her yards and they showed it. Many friends and neighbors benefited from her hard work from flowers and bulbs she has given them over the years. We can only imagine the lovely garden that she now has in heaven. Although she loved her flowers, her sons and grandchildren were her pride and joy, but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, that are here today and gone tomorrow, please made a donation to her church, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 2524 Stack Rd., Monroe, NC 28112.

Not sure what to say?

I remember Ms. Lucy showing off all of her beautiful flowers and plants. We also enjoyed a day of fishing in the pond and catching fish one afternoon. Ms. Lucy ALWAYS smiled and always had positive things to say. She will certainly be missed.

My Dearest Aunt Lucy you were always a shining light whenever I visited. I have fond memories of you as my sunday school teacher at Mount Pleassant some 40 years ago. To this day I have yet to meet anyone as close to God as you always were and are now. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. You will be greatly missed.

Sammy, Ricky and Family We loved Lucy. There was never a Christmas we didn't recieve a card encouraging us to love our Lord and Savior. We were friends many years. Our deepest sympathy.

Lucy Grant was a wonderful person I respected so greatly. She was an "outdoors woman" long before the term became popular. I always enjoyed talking to her when I was in high school, as she was always to nice and thoughtful. The world is a better place because of her.

Jerry & Pat Funderburk send our deepest condolences to the family of Sam & Lucy Grant upon her departing from us to be with the Lord and Mr. Sam. St Paul said that, for him, to die would be gain because he would be with the Lord, and that is certainly true of Sam and Lucy. One thing is for sure about Lucy, I never saw a frown on her face; if any person ever epitomized the joy of knowing Christ in this life, it was her. Please accept our prayers and best wishes for all her family, Jerry and...

Praying that knowing she is walking with her Lord will bring you comfort as you adjust to life without her here on this Earth. Love, Talisha Russell Pope & Johnny

Offering our deepest condolences during this time.
