Lucy H. Snyder, 90, of Wind Gap, passed away, Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Alexandria Manor, Nazareth. She was the wife of the late Rodney E. Snyder, who passed away, February 2, 1984. 


Born in Wilson, PA, October 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Mary A. (Kostenbader) Happel. 


Lucy was a 1950 graduate of Bangor High School and prior to retiring she was employed by various garment mills in the Slate Belt Area. 


She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ, Wind Gap and was a member of UNITE. 


She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and doing puzzle books. 


She is survived by two sons, David R. Snyder and his wife Cindy of Bangor, Gary N. Snyder of Wind Gap, a daughter, Wendy S. Messerschmidt and her husband Jamie of Pen Argyl, three grandchildren, Justin Snyder, Devin and Joshua Messerschmidt, and three great grandchildren, Blaize Stull, Madison and Marley Snyder. 


She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jasmine L. Snyder. 


Funeral services will be held, Friday, July 14, 2023, at 7:00 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl.  There will be a viewing beginning at 5 PM until time of services at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at Forks Cemetery.
