The world has lost an incredible barrister and finer human being. I worked side by side with Luis for many years as trial attorneys at the defender office, trying many cases together; he was a close confidant and friend, one who was exceptionally dedicated to his work and his clients; he was the workhorse in the office, the attorney who represented more than his share of clients and always at a very high level of professionalism, achieving results that inspired the other attorneys in the office I send my sincere condolences to his wife and family and...

I graduated with Luis from St. Kevin's grammar school & Mt. Carmel HS in Chicago. He was a great friend in my youth and have great memories playing basketball at Trumbull Park and attending Football & Basketball games at Mt. Carmel. We are so sorry for your loss. I only worked with Luis one Summer, but, it was so impactful that, almost 25 years later, I am still in his debt for what I learned from him. He was an amazing mentor, and not just as a lawyer. He mentored me as a lawyer who also loved his wife, children, and extended family.
