Luis Rosas Obituary
Luis Rosas Jr. was involved in the community with Charros Days and in politics. He was a Brownsville musician and a conjunto pioneer legend from the 1960s. He also gave guitar lessons. He belonged to the Church of Christ. He helped people in their daily lives and was an inspiration to his children and family. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He has joined his beloved wife and mother in the kingdom of God.
We would like to thank everybody who has joined us in our loss of a great man. He was well known and had many friends, whom he liked to meet at his favorite places - the Brownsville Coffee Shop, Whataburger and McDonald's.
Mr. Rosas was preceded in death by his wife, Cristina A. Rosas; mother, Apolinia Pina Coronado; daughter-in-law, Diana Rosas; sisters, Juanita Coronado and Rosa Garcia; and brother, Alberto Coronado.
He is survived by sons, Guadalupe (Clara), Ruben (Cris) and Reynaldo (Rey) (Irma); daughter, Nora C. Rosas Cervantes (Tony); 27 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled from 2 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at Funerarial Del Angel Mausoleum, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 4, at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 201 with the location to be announced on today during the prayer service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Luis Rosas III, Omar Rosas, David Luis Rosas, Ruben Rosas Jr., Randy Rosas, Rey Rosas Jr. and Rocky Rosas.

I miss you and I thank u for all the talent you taught your sons because if it wasn't for u I wouldnt of been where I am today on my music career and I thank you for doing that. I know your playing your guitar and singing to all da angels on the street of gold. My grandfather was a great musician man and a good father. I was so proud of him when I saw him receiving his conjunto pioneer award he was so happy............Miss you Welo and you will never be forgotten......R.I.P.......

Our condolenses goes out to the family of such a dear,kind, talented friend, Mr. Luis Rosas. We use to love to talk to him & he knew it because he would always come looking for us.I remember telling him how proud we were of him & what an honor,to be recongized during the Freddy Gomez event. He had such a BIG SMILE on his face!!He will truly be missed! We were so lucky to have met such a Respectful,Talented gentalmen!!May he Rest in Peace!
