Luis had the best smile ever on the GBBS. And the biggest heart. And it stole mine. Even though I unfortunately never got to meet him.
May he rest in peace and his smile live on for ever.

I loved Luis soo much! He was an awesome baker and inspired me to try baking some of his recipes! I bought his cookbook and will remember him always! Condolences to the family.

Luis was one of my favorites and not just because we’re both Spaniards. He always came through as a kind, good and decent man. He was oh so talented. I dreamed of one day trying one of his bakes. As a recent, avid American fan of the Bake-off, I watched Luis with interest, and eventually, admiration and affection. What a wonderful presence! Luis’s warmth, humor and sincerity were on full display, along with his prodigious culinary skill. I am genuinely saddened by his passing and send my best wishes to his friends and family. What a splendid man, gone far too soon. RIP...
