BECKER RITTER ELMBROOK FUNERAL HOME Obituary

Age 28, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital. Luke is the son of James and Susan Sandstrom and loved brother to Casey and Joshua. Cherished grandson to Elaine Sandstrom and Irma Jean Wiley. He brought much joy and happiness to his fourteen Aunts and Uncles and 20 cousins.

Luke lived on Okauchee Lake and if he wasn't working he was fishing, hunting, or cooking. He was a very passionate fisherman be it open water or on the ice. There was no place he would rather be than fishing. Luke guided his father, friends and uncles to many trophy fish. He was always the one doing research as to where the next fishing hotspot would be or the latest and greatest lure.

Luke was a sixteen year member of the Long Lake Deer Camp and was known as Cool Hand Luke to camp members. Everyone at camp looked forward to the many wonderful meals he would prepare for camp.

Luke was a very accomplished chef and will be remembered for his rubs and marinades. His smoked meat recipes will never be matched even though he worked very hard to train his father in the art of rubs and smoking.

Luke's family would like to thank Dr. Mike Schneider, the good men and women of the Elmbrook ER, the Froedtert Heart Failure Team and the Brookfield EMT's for all of their hard work and support.

A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 2 from 3 to 7 PM. Additional visitation will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Brookfield (1755 N. Calhoun Rd.) on Saturday, October 3 from 10 to 10:45 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Luke?s name to The American Heart Association.

Not sure what to say?

I have fondly remembered Luke throughout the years. Your memories of him will carry you all. Continue to Rest In Peace, Luke.

Len and I were so saddened to hear of your great loss, your son, Luke. Not only was he a great fisherman and chef but he was an incredible fort builder as a boy with our son, Steve. May he rest in heavenly peace.

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.

May Jesus gentle hand guide Luke home. My prayers are with him.

Condolences and sympathies to the Sandstorm family. The Wisconsin Print Industry prays for Lukas' eternal peace.

My prayers and condolences to the entire Sandstrom family as Luke has gone to be with our Lord. With His great mercy and compassion, may your hearts be comforted and feel peace at this sad time. Luke was a memorable student for me in eighth grade always with a smile.

Our young kids played together, before we moved away. It hurts to even imagine what you are all going through. Our deepest sympathy to you and all of your family,

Luke you will be greatly missed! Thanks for always bringing a smile to my face! I'll miss kicking back & having brews with you & Mandy! May you rest easy, friend!
