Not sure what to say?

In 1947 Dr. Able saved the life of my 4-month-old brother. He was suffering from a hernia of the diaphragm presumably with which he was born. Even though confined to a wheelchair due to a World War 2, injury, Dr. Able spent hours working over a tiny infant in order to save his life. The surgery was done at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, TX. At the time I was only 8 years old. My family I will always remember Dr. Able and the miracle he wrought back then. I would like his family to know...

I always cherished my Uncle Luke. I have fond memories of him as a young niece. His quiet gentleness inspired to spend as much time with him as he made available. Even though I've lost contact with him over the years, he has always been in my heart. Love, Dianne

Dr. Able saved my brother's life at Hermann Hospital in 1949. He was only 5 days old when surgery happened. The story is part of our family history. Bubba is alive and well thanks to a caring man. My mother often tells the story and always Dr. Able is the hero and there is a happy ending. My thoughts are with your family.

Our deepest sympathy on the passing of a wonderful man and doctor........He delivered my husband at Hermann Hospital in 1941. Dr. Able was very excited to see one of His Babies when we took our son to him in 1963 for his first hernia repair at six weeks of age.
