WHEn I think of Luke Keefer I remember my grandmother Anna Snyder took me on the train to Millersburg for the Saturday meetings at the BIC and we stayed over night in Luke's parent's home. My parent would come up Sunday AM and take us back to our home in Elizabethtown after the service and noon meal was over.
I never knew Luke as an adult to my regret, but from reading about his live, he served the Lord well and I am sure he was welcomed home with "Well good my good and...

Dear Doris and Family, I have personally experienced the loss and rejoicing that goes with the home-going of a loved one. My wife Shirley was a classmate of Luke in the one-room school in Millersburg. I only met Luke a couple of times during our careers in higher education. I always appreciated his warmth and Christian witness. Shirley went to be with our Lord on July 2, 2010. I hope they can connect again in the Father's house, where some day we too will be reunited in glory and joy. Shirley...

Our prayers are with the family as you go through this difficult time. What a comfort to know that he is with Jesus and no longer is in pain.

Dr. Keefer was an extrodinary teacher! He was an excellent communicator who was not afraid to tell the truth even on issues of race and religion. His classes, the two that I was blesssed to sit in while at Ashland, were two of the best of my entire seminary experience. I once told him, while praying for him, that "you have blessed so many current leaders and teachers over the years with knowledge that is still being passed on today to others." We will miss him dearly as we continue to...

I will remember Luke as a kind, Godly and compassionate man. His warm smile and genuine laugh made him a welcome part of any gathering. He truly emulated Jesus in all he did.

I met Dr. Keefer during a BIC Core Course in my early years of ministry, and I deeply appreciated his passion for the Lord and the church, and his desire to pass his knowledge on to other followers of Jesus! He will be sincerely missed!

Our lives have been enriched by being acquainted with this man of God, gentleman, theolgian, excellent communicator and esteemed churchman.
