Not sure what to say?

From Coach Laporta's days at what was Buckley Road Elementary - What a gift of inspiration to us all from the most timid and least able to the best athlete in any of us - still inspiring me to run the distance and take on new challenges to this day, now at 61. So sorry for your loss and the difficult challenges endured - wishing you gentle moments in the face of your loss that will seem to go on forever... may sweet memories comfort you in the days ahead... best to you and yours

To Marie: May God bless and comfort you at Luke's home going. He was like a ray of sunshine for he brightened up the world.

To the LaPorta Family. I just learned of Luke's transition. Please know you have my deepest condolences of the Charles Family (Carol & Butch).

I had the pleasure of working with Luke while I was a new development officer at Syracuse University in 1988-1990. He was always delightful, always welcoming, always supportive and forever a mentor. I've taken the lessons he shared into my heart and I use them daily. It was my great privilege to know him. I had just asked about him not a...

While I was never a "player" under Coach LaPorta, I was "manager" of several of his Liverpool High School teams. What a guy! My whole high school experience was warmed by the quality of such people of the LHS faculty with Luke LaPorta leading the pack. God rest you man and most sincere condolences to your family.

To the Laporta Family, the last message did not have a sender name on it and I'm sorry for that. It's from Bill LoVine Sr. from Ft. Mill SC

To the LaPorta family, I had the honor of meeting Luke for the first time during the summer of 1950 on an outside softball diamond at Griffin Field and became one of his ORIGINAL Little Leaguers. From that time and with each time that we were in each others company over the last 63 years (which were many)I would always be referred to as "one of my kids". He was a very caring and giving person and helped to shape many of the youthful lives that he came in contact with, mind included. He will be...

Dear Marie and Family,How blessed I have been to have known Luke. He was a dear friend of my sister Dawn Falge and her husband Jack. Thank you Luke for being such a fine example for me growing up.

Mr. LaPorta was my elementary school and Jr High School gym teacher at Liverpool SD. He had a great personality, memory and loved kids. I saw him about 10 years ago walking the Onondaga Lake Park walking trail, we talked and he remembered me. I was impressed! God bless the family and CNY, we lost a great one! You will be forever missed Mr LaPorta!

I have nothing but fond memories of Coach LaPorta. He was someone I looked up to and admired.
