We often think of Lula as a force of nature, a talented woman who touched our lives in so many ways: the young mother at the "dome" who graciously extended an invitation to share her life; the mature lady who never failed to transport us back to the shenanigans of the early 70's "when we were young" and getting started in NY. We loved that gal!

We will miss a dear friend, a woman of grit and intelligence, someone who always lived in a way that was interesting, stylish and challenging. A memory: the Upper West Side of the 1970's and Lula is trimming the Christmas tree elegantly. Music wafts throughout (James Taylor?), there is much to eat and drink with lots to discuss about personal relationships and the wider world. I had the distinct pleasure of sharing time with Lula, going back to when she was attending Hollins and studying dance. Then we renewed our friendship in New York City, my wife Mary and our daughter, Tara, we loved our time together with Lula in Manhattan, this was in the 70´s and she happily babysat for Tara at a minutes notice. Singular memories. We lost touch somewhere along the line, then in the 80´s we bought a weekend house in upstate New York and the damnedest thing -that´s where...

Wonderful Lady...may God speed. As a Cheerleader for our Mt. Brook athletic teams she made us proud of our endeavors...Yes those Cheers made all the difference. My sincere sympathy for her family and friends....
