Arthur, Mary and Felicia -- We are so sorry for your loss. I graduated with Bootsie in 1960 and always looked upon her as a loving and giving person. She was always so much fun to be around and I can still see her in her Boosterette uniform. I did get to see her again earlier this year at our class luncheon in Mandeville. During this most trying of times I would like to express my deepest sympathies to the Short family: Mrs. and Mrs. Short, Kathleen, Eric, Chris, and Sally. Brother and Mary Kulp and their children and especially to Dagney, Gretchen and Margaretha Bell.
Bootsie was a rare and exceptional woman who I have never forgotton.
From a distance I grieve with you all and you are in my prayers.

Gretchen and Margaretha, My deepest sympathy to you on the passing of your mother. She and I were La Leche League leaders together and I remember especially working on the state convention in New Orleans with her. I believe she was the chairman, and she did a marvelous job. But first and foremost she loved being a mother and took such great joy in the two of you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

When she later became a leader herself, we worked together for some time until I retired from the group.
I was not surprised to read that she devoted her last years to helping Katrina victims. She had such a warm heart and love for her fellow humans. Most of all, I remember how proud...
