Most definitely a true coaching talent, he will be missed be so many. Sincere condolences to the Olson family. May God comfort and strengthen you in your time of sorrow.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Lute Olson family. I just heard about this on Friday while doing video visit with one of my patients, a University of Arizona graduate that had met Lute a number of times at Alumni functions and had an enormous amount of respect for Lute.

Lute was a legend around the USA and of course in Mayville, North Dakota, mine and Lute’s hometown. I’ll never forget Lute coming all the way back home to speak at our Athletic Banquet my senior year, 1978...

We send our deepest sympathy of the passing of Lute Olson to all of his family, friends, and fans. Lute is a UA Legend and his legacy is forever written into the books of UA history! Our deepest condolences.

I had the opportunity to meet coach Olson as a student at the University of Iowa. He was a class act and a roll model for a life well lived. My condolence to the Olson family. God Bless them all.

I extend my sincere sympathy to Lute's family and friends. He made basketball so much more than just a game. I always admired the way he kept in touch with his former players and they kept in touch with him. That speaks to the true gentleman and teacher that he was. May God's peace be with all of you!

Coach Olson was a true gentleman. Sadly we don’t have many of those anymore. Every time he came into the bank where I worked he had an instant impact. He lifted the room and you knew you were in the presence of greatness. He always treated everyone with respect and it was noticed. All three of my boys attended his basketball camp.
