Not sure what to say?

LUKE WAS A GOOD PERSON AND FRIEND. ALWAYS LOOKING OUT FOR THE INTEREST OF OTHERS. SORRY FOR THE LOSS!

I miss my uncle dearly. Our conversations where he injected his knowledge, wisdom and experience is what I missed the most. He was truly dedicated to family and the family misses that.

He opened up his dwelling for our visits when he didn't have to. A very good person.

A wonderful individual. I have known him since 1954 when he came to Irving-Swain Press, Inc looking for a job. An excellent worker at that early age.

Luther R. Gartrell, "Uncle Luke" is my uncle, last of the Georgia-born sons of the late Carl and Katie Gartrell. Wise, intelligent, humble, giant heart... D.I.Y. should be his middle initials. Much love to the family!

Luther was a good man, a friend and a brother! Luther kept me looking forward to the next day, to his engaging and insightful conversations! I learned from Luther! He knew the world around him! He had an engaging personality. We liked to talk about the many facets of the Civil War! Luther Gartrell made me smile; he made my life better! Luther will be missed! I extend my condolences to Bridget, Gina, Celena and the rest of his family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Luther was a wonderful man that will alwaysbe remembered as a part of my history...

My sisters Gina and Bridgett, I am sorry for your loss and pray or strength and healing. I love you, ladies. You ladies show great strength and love to others, and hope you find peace in others and in God.

Dear Bridgett and Gina:

We are sad because we will miss Luther but we also celebrate and honor a positive life lived. What a sweet and warm spirit your Dad had and always welcoming and gracious. May his memory give comfor to your sorrow. The heart never has to say goodbye.
