Dear Ester and family,

Even though I could not make it for his funeral and wake, I thought I would give you all my condolences. Mr. Phillips as I always called him was a very nice neighbor and friend to my Mom and Dad as I grew up in Centerville. He was a man of few words but they were always kind and considerate. He helped us out whenever he could or he gave us advice on our outdoor projects.
He will be missed but he is at a better and more peaceful place.
My thoughts and prayers are and have been with you all during these times.
God bless you all and may peace rest upon you as well!

Dearest Esther and family: Please accept my deepest sympathy at the loss of the great Luther Phillips, who proudly served our country in WWII. It was an honor, pleasure and privilege getting to know Mr. Phillips at One Lincoln Park, where I am a valet and chauffeur. He was a true prince and true American hero.

John, Lynn and family,
Sherye and I were so sorry to hear of your loss. We know John was a wonderful son who made his dad proud and that Lynn could not have been a better daughter-in-law. The apple doesn't fall for from the tree and we are sure Luther was a wonderful dad and husband. Thanks for his service in WWII as part of the greatest generation.
Love to all,
Jack and Sherye Cook
