It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luz Maria Rodriguez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and the cherished matriarch of her family. Luz entered into eternal rest on October 12, 2025, in Midland, Texas, at the age of 63, surrounded by the family she so dearly loved.
Luz was born on October 27, 1961, in Eagle Pass, Texas, to her parents, Adolfo Manuel Jimenez and Lidia Segura. It was in her hometown of Eagle Pass that her beautiful life-long journey began when she met the love of her life, Felix Rodriguez, in 1977. Their meeting sparked a romance that would span nearly five decades, culminating in 48 years of a devoted and loving marriage. Throughout their journey together, they built a life that took them to Eagle Pass TX, North Dakota, Virginia, Austin, Texas, and Minnesota, before they settled and retired in Midland, Texas, which they called home for the last 35 years.
A dedicated homemaker, Luz’s life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to her husband and family. She was the heart of her home, creating a warm and nurturing environment for her nine children, and her love radiated outward to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her passions were simple and centered around family. She found joy in camping, fishing, and shopping, but her greatest delight was traveling to watch her grandchildren play sports, cheering them on from the sidelines of countless soccer, baseball, and football games. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed the creative and peaceful craft of bead making.
Luz’s incredible legacy is carried on by her large and loving family. She is survived by her devoted mother, Lidia Segura, and her sister, Elizebeth Jimenez, along with many nieces and nephews.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her nine children:
● Sons: Felix Rodriguez Jr. (Angelica), and their twelve children and six grandchildren; and Andrew Rodriguez (Briana), and their two daughters.
● Daughters: Jessica Juarez (Juan), and their five children and fourteen grandchildren; Yvonne Brito (Baltazar), and their four children and eight great-grandchildren; Georgina Ramirez (Israel), and their seven children and nine grandchildren; Barbara Holguin (Alfredo), and their six children and three grandchildren; Tammy Ochoa (Juan), and their three children; Chantal Gonzalez (Julio), and their four children; and Samantha Labastida (Omar), and their five children.
In total, she was the proud grandmother to 43 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Luz is now reunited in eternal rest with those who preceded her in death: her father, Adolfo Manuel Jimenez; her brother, Adolfo (Fito) Manuel Jimenez; and her beloved granddaughters, Andrea Rodriguez Hernandez, Luz Bertha Brito, Delilah Jahlean Mendez, and Christine Violet Burns.
The family will receive friends and loved ones for a viewing at Heavenly Gates Funeral Home on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Evening prayers will be held at 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 7:00 PM.
A funeral service to celebrate Luz’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Heavenly Gates Funeral Home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Serenity Memorial Garden Cemetery, located at 6800 TX-349, Midland, TX 79706.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Baltazar Brito Sr., Felix Rodriguez Jr., Juan Ochoa, Alfredo Holguin, Andrew Xavier Rodriguez, Israel Ramirez Jr., Julio Gonzalez Jr., and Omar Labastida Jr.
The Rodriguez family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all the family members and friends who have provided support through both prayers and donations during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a great comfort.

Expressing my deepest sympathy to Felix and his family on the loss of a dear neighbor and friend, Luz. We have been neighbors for over twenty years. Every time we met it was with a hug. I shall miss her greatly.
