Luzmina Gardner, 76, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 in Aldie, Virginia. She was born on January 1st, 1947, in Moniquirá, Colombia, South America to Nieves Sotomonte and Filemón Vargas.

 Luzmina Gardner was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. Luzmina spent more than 50 years in Bogota, Colombia. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Public Administration from Escuela Superior de Administración Pública ESAP, Luzmina worked with the Colombian government as a Public Relationships and had multiple entrepreneurial ventures over the years.

 In 2001, Luzmina moved to United States with her family and successfully learned a new culture and language and found love. Luzmina was married to her late husband, Robert Gardner, 17 years until his passing in 2019. 

 Luzmina was a strong, single mother who was deeply caring and provided unconditional love and support to her two children. She was always capable of bouncing back from challenges and setbacks. Luzmina was a people person and developed close personal friendships with many people and always brought life, love, and laughter to everyone she met. Those close to her will miss her compassion and empathy, attuned to the needs and concerns of those around her. Luzima was always ready to provide a listening ear, comfort and understanding. 

 Above all, Luzmina loved her family and friends fiercely, without conditions or limitations, and was always there to support them through thick and thin. Luzmina deeply cherished spending time with her family and friends creating precious memories that will be treasured forever. Luzmina is survived by her Juliana (daughter), Christopher (son-in-law), Christian (son), Jenny (daughter-in-law) and Savannah, Isaac, Valentina, and Zoe Faith (grandchildren) along with numerous other family members and loving friends. 

 The loss of Luzmina Gardner leaves a deep void in our lives, but her legacy of love, kindness, and resilient spirit will live on in our hearts forever. The Celebration of Life Service will be Friday April 28, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Cornerstone Chapel located at 650 Battlefield Pkwy SE, Leesburg, VA 20175. Immediately following the visitation there will be light refreshments and drinks provided. Funeral arrangements are being managed by Colonial Funeral Home of Leesburg.

 Luzmina Gardner, de 76 años, falleció el sábado 22 de abril de 2023 en Aldie, Virginia. Nació el 1 de enero de 1947 en Moniquirá, Colombia, Sudamérica, hija de Nieves Sotomonte y Filemón Vargas.

Luzmina Gardner fue una madre, abuela, esposa, hermana, tía y amiga amorosa y dedicada. Luzmina vivió más de 50 años en Bogotá, Colombia. Se graduó con un título de Licenciada en Administración Pública de la Escuela Superior de Administración Pública ESAP, y trabajó con el gobierno colombiano en Relaciones Públicas y tuvo múltiples emprendimientos empresariales a lo largo de los años.

 En 2001, Luzmina se mudó a Estados Unidos con su familia, aprendió exitosamente una nueva cultura e idioma, y encontró el amor. Luzmina estuvo casada con su difunto esposo, Robert Gardner, durante 17 años hasta su fallecimiento en 2019.

 Luzmina fue una madre soltera fuerte, profundamente amorosa, que brindó amor y apoyo incondicional a sus dos hijos. Siempre fue capaz de sobreponerse a los desafíos y contratiempos. Luzmina era una persona sociable y desarrolló estrechas amistades personales con muchas personas, siempre llevando vida, amor y risas a todos los que conocía. Aquellos cercanos a ella extrañarán su compasión y empatía, siempre atenta a las necesidades y preocupaciones de los demás. Luzmina siempre estaba lista para escuchar, reconfortar y comprender.

Por encima de todo, Luzmina amaba profundamente a su familia y amigos, sin condiciones ni limitaciones, y siempre estaba allí para apoyarlos en las buenas y en las malas. Luzmina deja un vacío profundo en nuestras vidas, pero su legado de amor, bondad y espíritu resiliente vivirá en nuestros corazones para siempre. El servicio de Celebración de la Vida se llevará a cabo el viernes 28 de abril de 2023 a la 1:00 pm en la Iglesia Cornerstone Chapel ubicada en 650 Battlefield Pkwy SE, Leesburg, VA 20175. Inmediatamente después de la visita habrá refrigerios y bebidas. Los arreglos funerarios están a cargo de la Casa Funeraria Colonial de Leesburg.
