BISHOP, Mrs. Lydia M., 73, of Midlothian, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 27, 2012, after a courageous battle with diabetes, kidney failure and arthritis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Veronika Marsall; brothers, Mathias and Edward Marsall. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Randy; sons, John and his fiancee, Lori, Joseph, James and Michael and wife, Patty; granddaughter, Hilary Bishop; sister, Rosa Bennett and her husband, Michael; brother, Adam Marsall; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, March 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Dr., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Knights of Columbus Council Number 6546 at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church.

Lydia was always such a sweet lady and I loved seeing her with all the kids at family functions. They would flock to her lap and just love her attention. She will be missed and may God Bless you and your family.

Our deepest sympathy is with your entire family at this time of need. Lydia was a great Christian woman true to her faith. She was a loving mother in law to me and caring grandmother to Hilary. We will keep her in our prayers.

I will miss Lydia. She was a faithful member of the Hull Street Shelter team long before I was part of the team. We will all miss her smiling face, gentle spirit, and of course her famous cookies! My deepest sympathies to Randy and family.
