Lydia Kimbrough, age 92, of Abilene, Texas passed away on Monday, April 16th, 2018. Lydia was born to M.O. and Julia Flores September 23rd, 1925 in Somerset, Texas. Lydia is survived by two daughters; Patricia Martin and Donna Leonard; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents M.O. and Julia Flores, husband Thurman Dee Kimbrough, daughter Judy Kay Jones, and brother Alex Flores.
Lydia was an amazing sweet soul that always put family and friends first. Lydia was "Sunshine on a cloudy day", "Bluebonnets blooming on a beautiful Spring day", "The sweet sound of a gospel choir on Sunday morning", She was all things lovely. She brought laughter, wisdom, and serenity to her family.
Lydia was a great seamstress, she made all the aprons for the employees of the very first Taco Bueno that opened in Abilene, TX in 1967. She was very crafty and made beautiful clothes for her children, grandchildren, and church costumes for her Sunday school children while attending North Side Baptist Church for many years.
Grandma's pecan pie, banana pudding, and pumpkin roll were delicious and enjoyed by many! Lydia loved her family and friends beyond measure and had great relationship with the Lord. Gran, I bet it's so nice up in Heaven since you arrived.
Funeral service will be Monday, April 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM, 5701 Highway 277 South, burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation for Lydia will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

The day I reunite with her and everyone else in heaven will be the best day ever. I Ryan will continue to carry on her way of life. I was her Great Grandson after all!!!

Sorry I missed visitation. Lydia was a jewel a great caretaker and a sweet sweet lady someone I could always depend on. Love to the family
