Not sure what to say?

I was privileged to be at the dedication of the beautiful cross in the garden of Christ Church. I then choose my spot in the wall where My ashes are to be I told her then I called the beautiful gift The Old Rugged Cross. Thru the years I have spent many visits to that special garden and sung that favorite hymn silently Bless you Lydia for the wonderful true woman of God you have been.

I have met Mrs.Stevens only once but I have been very fortunate to know her daughter Priscilla. Mrs. Stevens was an amazing woman and her children and grandchildren are her legacy. My deepest sympathy for your loss .I will keep you all in my prayers

Thank you Aunt Lydia for taking care of me when I was a young man and letting me borrow one of my cousins' bikes which I learned how to ride down the street where you and Uncle George lived in Belle Haven...and for not scolding me for almost drowning in the harbor while swimming with Gabette Hamlin...last time I saw you on Chebeague Island, you were most content. You were one of the rocks of the Stevens family.

Dear Lydia was a joy to know and I always go to the garden at Christ Church to visit her "old rugged cross" where I will join her in one day in that special garden We were blessed to have her in our church and community. Patricia Duncan
