It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on April 28, 2025 at the age of 83.
Born on March 29, 1942, Lyle's journey was an adventure without compromise, full of passion, and love, surrounded by people who were always instantly best friends. He was as he was, nothing in the shadows, always up for a new story to add to his collection, chapters in his adventure.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Eva, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Together they created a warm and loving home for their family. As a father, he was an example of kindness to his two sons, Christopher and Carlos, instilling in them the values of hard work and integrity. He welcomed his daughters-in-law, Shannon and Susana, into the family with open arms. As a grandfather, Lyle found immense joy in his two grandchildren, Alyssa and Luke. He cherished every moment spent with them, sharing stories, laughter, and life lessons that they will carry with them forever. He is also survived by his two sisters, Linda and Macrayla.
He is preceded in death by his father, Larry; his mother, Rose; and his brother, Ron.
He had a passion for cars and later in life found he loved treasure hunting stories on TV. We often joked about how throughout the many years watching those shows, they have still not found the treasure. His obsession with his first love, a 1968 Pontiac GTO, will be with us forever.
Dad was a simple man, who did not want a flashy life. He was happy with everything he worked hard to achieve and loved his time with us.
Our father was drafted into a military stint during the Vietnam war. While he never spoke lovingly about the experience, his stories of camaraderie and friendships he built will always bring a smile to our family.
A celebration of Lyle's life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Trinity Funeral Home, 1002 E. Harrison Ave., Harlingen, TX at 5pm.
He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Dad. Your love will forever remain in our hearts. Have a great ride.
