I had the privilege of working with and then for Lyle. He had the ability to make people smile, laugh and still get everything done; a great sense of humor. The world could use more Lyle Moore's.

Chief Moore was the D/C in training when I was hired. I worked for him on occasion as a shift commander and can say my impression was that he was an exceptional fireground leader. Later in my career we happened to sit on opposite sides of the table, Lyle as Fire Chief and I as Union President. He was always assessable. Stern, but fair. Principled and loyal to a fault. While our methods may have differed, our mission was the same; always do what's best for the men. RIP my friend.

Chief Moore was a wonderful person. I enjoyed working with him. He was dedicated to the Hamilton Fire Department and the City of Hamilton. He was a leader and a true professional in handling his duties. The City and the Department improved under his leadership. My sympathy to his family.
