When Larry Allums and I visited with Sybil Novinski earlier this year at her home, we spent grand time together remembering Lyle, the early days of the University of Dallas and the stories that Lyle wrote in his memoir that I had the honor of reading as he wrote them. Lyle is so alive in us this day, as is Sybil's masterful storytelling that animated their lives for decades. Dennis Patrick Slattery

I wish to add an additional item to my remembrances as Mr Novinski was also the director of the U D Players Guild which produced Guys and Dolls in 1964 and The Fantastics in 1965.

Lyle was a lovely human being and one of the most creative people I have ever known. At one point he invited me to read his memoir chapters growing up in the Midwest and his subsequent experiences in the US Army. I found this opportunity a rare gift. His superb memory, his love of detail, of the particulars of things and people, made me feel I was in a novel with an exciting protagonist. I loved that time with him through emails and exchanges on various moments of his work. What a gift he was...

The Novinkskis were part of the fabric of early U. of Dallas. Their contributions will be long remembered & much appreciated.

I knew Mr Novinski while I was a student at the University of Dallas from 1962 to 1966. After that time, I visited the campus frequently and often saw him during that time.With deepest sympathy to his family.
