Not sure what to say?

Welch Family - Since we do not have an address for you, I am using this forum to let you know that the Vacaville City Council adjourned their meeting of November 11, 2008 in memory of your father. He will be remembered fondly in our community. Carol Yount, Deputy City Clerk

About 28 years ago I applied for an RSP Inst. Asst. position with the VUSD. When I walked in the room to be interviewed there were about 4 or 5 RSP teachers seated at a table on the right side of the room.
On the left side sat Mr. Welch and Mr. Farrell. Mr. Farrell was the head of Sp. Ed. at the time and he sat next to Mr. Welch and wrote in a tablet the entire time! I still often wonder what on earth he was writing!
Anyway, having all those people in the room watching me and...

Jill and family,
I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. He was a principal who had the respect of his students, and I remember him as a warm and caring man who set high standards. Your family is in my prayers.

Craig, Jill, Clark and family,
I was saddened to hear the news about your dad. Lyle was a mentor, supporter and good friend when we worked together in the Vacaville Schools in the 1970s. He will always be remembered not only as an outstanding educator but especially as a wonderful, caring human person. Denise and I remember Lyle in a special way as the best man at our wedding thirty years ago. We send our condolences and best wishes to all his family.

I just heard the other day and was quite shocked. He was a breath of fresh air at Vaca High in 1965; a good neighbor; and a great babysitting employer. I last saw in 1975 when he had a collapsed lung. He was always glad to see me.

Condolesces from my 90-year old mother as well as myself.

To the Welch Family

You have my sympathy. I knew Mr. Welch as a principal at Vacaville High School. I remember him as a good and nice person. I liked him as a principal. I know my dad, Tony Billalon, who died about a year ago, had respect for him. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care.

Craig and Jill:

Though I only ever knew your father in his role as principal of Vacaville High School, I always had enormous respect for him. I remember him as a man of integrity, warmth, and humor and this in a difficult, demanding, and what must have been a trying role. Ironically, I was thinking of him just this weekend as I paged through my old Vaca High yearbook. The pictures of him held such good memories and brought a smile to my face. Although I never had the good fortune...

Clark and Maureen,
You are in our thoughts at this time and hope you find comfort in all the wonderful memories that your father has given you to pass on.
Our Blessings, Blaise, Em, Drake and Roan

To the Welch Family:
Lyle was as good as they come, both personally and professionally. I enjoyed working with him and am sorry for your loss.
