Lyman E. Pelkey

Lyman was a truly kind gentleman. I was fortunate to know him when we worked at Grant Middle School. He was a fine teacher and the students respected and liked him. I still can see him sitting at that old organ in the auditorium coaxing beautiful music out of it.

Mr. Pelkey was my 8th. grade English teacher at Grant Junior High School in 1967-68.My fondest memory was when i got a 100 on my spelling test.Upon further review when i got back my paper was that i did misspell a word and told Mr. Pelkey.His kindness showed he said it was alright.About twenty years later his daughter would baby sit my nieces as they lived on Rugby Road .My sympathies to Mrs. Pelkey as i knew her as a teacher at Grant a year before they married in 1968.
