Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

Lynn Longhenry, age 74, of Wichita Falls passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in Fort Worth, Texas.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas with Pastor Chad Stubblefield, officiating.

Lynn was born on October 8, 1948 in Mill Valley, California to Bill and Audrey Gosser and she was also blessed with the most loving, very special “Mom” Evelyn Gosser. She graduated from Tamalpais High School in 1965. After graduating Lynn worked at Bank of America, where a coworker fixed her up on a blind date. She and her blind date, Dennis Longhenry of Cuba City, Wisconsin, who was serving in the United States Air Force and stationed at Hamilton AFB in San Rafael, California. The couple married on December 10, 1971, this was the beginning of the most beautiful and adventurous life.  Dennis’s assignments took them to Okinawa, Japan, where they visited many neighboring countries. Later, stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas and then, to Italy. Family was everything to her. Lynn loved traveling with her family across Europe, going to Lake Garda every day in the summer and just celebrating the Italian way of life.

Lynn loved being a mom, “mimi’ and being by her husband’s side, an Air Force wife. Being an Air Force wife was lonely at times, but there were so many more blessings especially, the beautiful places she visited. After returning to Sheppard Air Force Base, Lynn worked for the Wichita County District Attorney’s office and retired after 26 years of service on October in 2014. Lynn never dreamed she would grow up to have the blessed and beautiful life and family she had. Life was Great!

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lynn is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Denise Sikes and husband, Andrew; two sons, Chuck, and Robert and wife Amy; six grandchildren: Kylie and husband, Jose Chavez, Daniel, Samuel, Julia, William, and Madelynn; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Mia Chavez; her special friends: Dee Ann Mejia, Stacie Mahler and Jeannie Binnini Wagner; and many other extended family members who loved her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Lynn’s name to Hospice of Wichita Falls 4910 Johnson Rd, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.

Dennis, so sorry for your loss.

What an amazing Lady! It was such an honor to have had her touch my life. She was loved greatly and by many.she will be missed!

We are deeply saddened and send all of our heartfelt condolences to her family. Lynn was so caring, thoughtful and loving Even though we lived far apart, we felt close and time and distance did not matter. Family was most important to her. She will be in our hearts and memories as love. Hoping she’s with her Mom who we all cherished. Care and concern to her family. Love, Susan and Patrick.

The first time I met Lynn she made me feel so welcomed and accepted. I loved talking to her but as life goes we didn't see each other much. When I'd run into her out and about it was just like it was yesterday we saw each other. She had a generous heart and a warm welcoming smile and sense of self. You are greatly missed.
