ROSENFELD, LYNN Lynn Rosenfeld was born December 13, 1934 in Grand Junction, Colorado and died peacefully in her home in Westport, CT on August 3rd 2012. She was 77 years old. Lynn leaves behind her loving husband, Kurt Rosenfeld, son Stuart and his wife Lynn, and their two daughters Elise and Malaika, of Seattle, WA; her daughter Lisbet and husband Russ and their three sons Tucker, Hunter and Josh, of Penticton, British Columbia, as well as her brother Stuart Smith of Richmond, Utah. Lynn had an idyllic childhood among extended family on a fruit ranch in Grand Junction. Her family later moved to Layton, Utah where she graduated from high school and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. When a sorority sister introduced her to Kurt their first date was on the slopes of Alta, in knee deep powder down the Wildcat Run. They were married in 1957. She and Kurt moved to Westport in 1962 where they raised their children. She spent endless hours at Compo beach, playing tennis at Longshore and nurturing a beautiful garden. She earned her Master's in Education from Fairfield University. Lynn enjoyed a long career as a special education teacher for the Westport schools, where she was highly regarded and sought after for her gift of helping kids with learning disabilities realize that they too, could learn. Lynn lived with a huge open heart and saw the best in every one. She encouraged others to capture and savor all that life had to offer. In that regard she did a marvelous job, and she will be forever missed. A memorial for Lynn will be held with family members at a later date in Seattle, WA.

I am saddened to hear that Lynn has passed. The Newtown massacre reminded me of Lynn. She was an amazing, intelligent, beautiful, fun person. I worked with Lynn at Zephyr Cove Lodge at Lake Tahoe. It was during the summer of our college year. Blessings.
