Lynnda Kay Nelson Harwood, ND Lynnda Kay Nelson, 52, died of cancer at her home in Harwood, ND on Sunday, September 4, 2011. Lynnda was born to Donald R. and Carolynn "Kay" (Olin) Johnson on March 3, 1959 in Grand Forks, ND and grew up primarily in Fargo, ND. A graduate of Fargo South High School and Moorhead State University, she became a respected member of Fargo/Moorhead's mortgage banking industry and volunteered extensively with Junior Achievement, Inc., West Fargo Schools, FM Home Builders Association, Maple Sheyenne Church, Boy Scouts of America, and 4-H over the course of her 30 year career. Lynnda married her soul mate, Rodney Nelson on August 8, 1981 and together they raised two sons. They made their home on the Sheyenne River near Harwood and worshiped at Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church. Gracious and kind in every aspect of life, Lynnda will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Lynnda is survived by her husband, Rod of Harwood; sons, Derek (Stephanie) Nelson of Fargo and Bennett Nelson of Harwood; the light of her life, granddaughter, Chloe Rae; her mother, Kay Johnson of Fargo; two sisters, Cynthia (Murray) Wilke of Centerville, MN and Jayne (Mani) Montazemi of Minnetonka, MN; three brothers, Steven (Maren) Johnson, Paul Johnson and Joel Johnson, all of Fargo; father-in-law, Wally Nelson of Harwood; brother-in-law, Duane (Lee Ann) Nelson of Berrien Springs, MI and nine nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Johnson and mother-in-law, Carol Nelson. Visitation: Thursday, September 8, 2011, 5 to7 pm, followed by a 7 pm prayer service at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Burial: 3:45pm at Maple Sheyenne Cemetery, rural Harwood, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
