Not sure what to say?

Dr. Lyon Tyler was my friend and confidant. I met him while teaching at the College of Charleston (1989-1991) and he became the Godfather to my son, Joshua. He was a great colleague and friend, and it is very sad that I am just now learning of his passing, five years ago. He was a great man.

Such a warm and compassionate man; great conversations. I miss him.

I met and became friends with Lyon when he moved to Franklin and joined the Franklin Lions Club. Lyon will always be remembered as a kind and compassionate member of our community. He is missed.

My only meeting with this gentleman, Lyon Tyler, was when I was invited to a Bible study at his home in Charleston one evening in the late summer of 1977. It is one of those pleasurable times which I will never forget. Too bad, that I did not have more time there. It was a nice young man who was a student and working for him at the time, named Michael who invited me there. For this I will be forever grateful being that I was visiting from Savannah.

Loved my oh so short time with him!

Lyon was a fascinating and compassionate individual. I worked and volunteered with him in the Franklin Lions Club for many years. He will be missed.
