Not sure what to say?

My sincerest condolences to Christopher & his family on the passing of his esteemed father. I knew Chris during his undergraduate years at UM and always admired him. Thomas

Not being able to say goodbye, or just "thank you" one more time to Hack is a huge regret for me. I was a patient of his through the Cleft Palate Clinic since birth and saw him regularly for 19 years. He was such a caring, kind, considerate and incredible doctor that knew how to approach and communicate with patients of all ages, and could easily explain procedures and calm children leading up to major surgeries. Hack was a treasured member of the medical community. He was a caring and competent physician. He will be missed by all who knew him. Condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to Dr. Newman’s family. Through the many years we knew each other at Barton Hills, he was always a kind and respectful gentleman. Jan, sending you hugs....great memories of your years together may help.

In addition to his extraordinary breadth of medical and surgical training, skill, and practice, and his many other interests, Hack always asked you about what and how you were doing, and he cared. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.

While I didn't know Hack very well or see him very often, I remember the times that I did......He always had a warm smile and a kind word .....my deepest sympathies to Jan and the rest of the family........
Warmly, Nina Hauser

We will miss Hack at the bridge table, especially in the games played at the Mortons. He was a true gentleman and a scholar.

All of the above is so very true. He was a true Renaissance man as well as a kind and gentle soul. He always listened to what one had to say, and always made each and every one of his many friends and patients feel that he valued them . Someone like Hack comes along only rarely.
