Marie Jane Strampe, 94, of Stockton, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Presence St. Joseph Center in Freeport, IL. She is survived by daughters, JoAnne (Gary) Johnson of Eden Prairie, MN, and Robin (Raymond) Wonders of Stockton, IL; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2016, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton, with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established. Condolences may be shared with her family at www.hermannfuneralhome.com.
Robin - it was a nice reminder to receive this notification today to remember your Mom. As I'm sitting here at work, I can't help but think the place I am in today would not be possible without her guidance. She was in a position at Burgess that was, in the past, held by men but she persevered! She has been one of the most influential women in my life and I am blessed to have known her.

Robin - I am so sorry for your loss. Jane was such a wonderful mentor to me in my early years. I couldn't have imagined making it one more day at Burgess Battery without her loving, smiling, caring ways! She was someone who I thought of often! May she fly like the angel she was!!
