M. Gregg Smith

Gregg was a leader, friend and mentor. He graciously offered me an internship at the Oregon Housing Division when I was a graduate student at the U of O. That internship blossomed into the editor of the Housing Hotline - a newsletter reporting on housing and urban planning legislation in the 1973 and 1975 Oregon Legislative sessions. He was unfailing in his support and constructive criticism, and helped launch my 40 year professional career in housing and planning in Oregon. I doubt that...

Gregg was a good friend for over 50 years, since we first met as fellow students at SAIS. I miss him and hope to see him again some day in God's vast paradise.

Gregg was a great friend to both Lynne and me and we miss him. His fight for life was truly inspirational. He cared deeply for Oregon and worked so hard to show that love.

We are sorry to learn of the passing of Gregg, but grateful for his service to our nation, including and especially his service with the Peace Corps in Nepal.
