Lena grew up close to our farm at Pawnee City, Nebraska. Even though she was 22 years older than myself she always wrote many letters to my wife and I in later years. She was a very caring lady that we admired immensely. It was always a pleasure to visit with Lena and Hans, as well as Robert, Tom and Mary Ann during their trips to Loveland, Colorado where Lena's sister Jesse Moss lived. Because of my love for farming, I enjoyed talking to Tom and Robert about their farming operations. ...

Allen and I wish to express our sympathy to you at the loss of your Mother, Lena. She along with your father, Hans, were faithful advocates of agriculture and they made a lasting impact on our industry. May the Lord bless you as your remenber your parents with much pride. The Lord says in Proverbs 10:7 that those memories are blest.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Your mother was always kind to us giggly teenagers when we sang in the choir at church.

My parents lived less than a quarter of mile from Lena's parents at Pawnee City, NE. The Peckhams were always very close to our family. Although I am eighteen years younger than Lena, she always remembered me on my birthday in July. The first time she missed was last July and I feared her health was failing. She wrote very good letters and told me many times that she remembered when I was born. Lena and Hans were wonderful people, as well as friends. I know she will be sorely missed by...
