Tonight I am deeply sadened to find out that my friend Maan had died. Maan was my closest friend at Utah State and at University of Chicago. Hi letters have been published in my book, The Bisharat Family Letters 1946-1956,1/2009, Our group in Chicago included Rashed Fakhry, Fawzi Najjar, Nizar Kadi, Talha AlYafi, George Haddad, Naji Fansah, Maan and myself. I still remember MELC times at Columbia especially when you came running to me saying "There's a baby in my office!", my baby niece whom I'd left on your couch for a nap. Oh, we had such a laugh! You led a good long life, now rest in peace, Ma'an.
