Not sure what to say?

Mabel was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed. Keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.

I am genuinely touched by your memories of our Mom. She often expressed her blessings for knowing her students, friends and neighbors. Thank you for sharing these stories!
Steve Cast

Mrs. Cast was my fifth grade teacher at White River many years ago. I remember even after graduating from high school I would see her at the grocery or drug store and she still remembered me. She was a wonderful human being.

Stephen, Please accept my deepest condolences in the passing of your mother. Respectfully, Debbie Canull

Sometimes you can tell the love and character of a parent by the love and character held in the son. Giff Cast always loved and honored his Mother. I only met Mabel a few times here in La Jolla but have known Giff a long time. Mabel and Giff shared a special relationship, the fruit of their love of God and family.

I never had Ms Cast as a teacher in the traditional sense. She lived in my neighborhood few doors down from another one of my teachers at White River Elementary, Mrs Grimes. I knew her only as a good neighbor who happened to teach at my school. I talked to her and assisted her when she asked for help with yard work or heavy lifting. I tell my 5 year son about all the teachers who lived in in Grandma and Pop Pop's (and my!) neighborhood in Indy, and point out their houses as we ride...

She was the mother of one of my best friends in grade school and jr. high school. Steve was my "buddy" through some tough times. Praying for you Steve and Gifford and hope †o see you at †he service ! Your ugly flat friend, Jane Burroughs Tuttle - - - HA !

I have the privelege of hearing of Mabels Humor, love of life and fierce independence while working with my friend, her son, Steve Cast at County Parks, what an amazing , strong woman she was!

She was a wonderful teacher shes one I will never forget
